About the Porsche Taycan
The concept version of the car was first shown at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show and was subsequently launched at the same show in 2019. The Porsche Taycan comes in two body shapes, has numerous performance levels, and is regarded as a desirable electric sports car. The Taycan is Porsche’s first electric car range. Porsche have kept their traditional design, but modernised the Taycan with premium battery power, bringing this car into the future.
Since the original Taycan was first introduced back in 2019, Porsche have added more to their range, signalling the beginning of an electric-focused future for the carmaker.
Alongside the original Taycan, there’s also the 4S, Cross Turismo, and Turbo variants. So named the Taycan for its spirit, the word “Taycan” roughly translates to mean “soul of a spirited young horse” in Turkic. The word ‘Taikan’ in Japanese means “physical experience”. The Porsche Taycan represents a car where the physical experience feels new and exciting.
Starting at a 230 km/h top speed with the entry level model, the electric battery combines the history of Porsche with the modern battery power.
Porsche Taycan 4/4S/Turbo/Turbo S Cross Turismo – NEW FOR 2021
Porsche’s Cross Turismo versions of the Taycan offer a high-end electric estate car, something that is uniquely positioned in the marketplace of estate cars. They’re larger cars, and more expensive than other models.
Introduced in 2021, they’re newer, feature the latest technology, and ideally suited for Sunday drives or for long distance journeys.
Starting at the 4 Cross Turismo and working up to the Turbo S Cross Turismo, the top speed ranges between 137mph up to 155mph.
Porsche Taycan 4S/Turbo/Turbo S
The original model, the Taycan is a rival of the Tesla Model S, with its sleek lines and sporty feel. It’s the quintessential Porsche experience but battery powered. The feel and quality of the Taycan is like that of their other flagship cars, the 911 and Cayman.
Whilst both Turbo versions aren’t running on turbocharged engines, the experience is like that of turbo-charged cars with greater handling, fast delivery and impressive 0-60mph times.
