The Impreza Return of Kubica

After 18 months out due to injury, it was time for Robert Kubica to return to the racing scene, in his first appearance since that horrific accident in the Ronde di Andora Rally of February last year. Everyone was eager to see how the pole performed, and needless to say he didn’t disappoint, as he took first place at the  Rallye Ronde di Lana Gomitolo last weekend driving his rally prepared Subaru Impreza.

Kubica managed to tally up times a minute quicker than his competitors over the four stage competition. This is pretty impressive for most drivers in this competition, and to do it on your first time back competing is even more impressive. Looking at this video it is clear to see he still has all the talent and desire required to be at the top once more.

Not to take anything away from Robert’s performance, but the car he was driving on the day of this monstrous feat was the Subaru Impreza WRC. This car has to go down as one of the greatest Rally cars to date. With it’s superb handling, it is able to drift through hairpins, claw around verges and continue on down the stage looking like it has no problems whatsoever. Undoubtedly, the Impreza WRC is one of the more formidable cars of the Subaru range and we expect to see more of the same as the season continues.

With his recent success up and running in the Subaru Impreza WRC, Kubica looks to return to the F1 grid in the 2014 season after losing out on his Lotus-Renault contract this year due to that injury he recieved in his previous incident.
