Recently we posted a story of the Jaguar XFR-S that will be taking on BMW M5 in the “hyper saloon” market. It’s fair to say that Jaguar have taken a fair amount of stick from consumers claiming that they now have a “naff” image despite sales going up again recently. This Jaguar is another in the range of new cars set to take those sales to another height, and we think it may just do that judging from the pictures that have been leaked.
The Jaguar XFR-S is set to try and improve an ever declining popularity of Jaguar cars, the reason being the image that Jaguar have held of recent times. Customers are even saying that this model is ugly, we have to say that we can’t agree with that opinion especially as Jaguar are saying that the XFR-S is set to be “the fastest, most powerful saloon that Jaguar has ever produced”. If this can be put into play by Jaguar we don’t see why the XFR-S can’t be the best “hyper saloon” on the market upon it’s release, and with the expected engine being the same supercharged 5.0l V8 from the XKR-S we don’t see why it shouldn’t be.
With the images released just a day before it is due to be released at the LA motor show Jaguar must be slightly irritated that they have managed to be leaked, we however are not. This car looks seriously cool and with performance tipped to be one of the best yet from Jaguar, we really are looking forward to its release. Unfortunately though the market seems to be split on this one as many customers are stating that they find the car ugly and don’t seem to think that Jaguar will have what it takes to live up to the hype the XFR-S has generated with recent press releases. Needless to say this is one that we plan to keep our eye on and we are really looking forward to see the results of what is to come from Jaguar.
