Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster

With not so many people being as keen on the Aston Martin V12 Vantage as thought, it was time for the Aston Martin team to up their game and bring in the Roadster model, possibly a bit earlier than previously expected what with all the focus seemingly being on the Vanquish model  and the V12 having been around for years. With the new Vantage Roadster giving an impressive 510hp and 470lb ft from the 5.9litre V12 it’s easy to see why people will be attracted to the new model, and needless to say it is a good looking car too.

Aston Martin have stuck to the simple designs they tend to apply to such models as the Vantage, but with the Roadster version it seems they have decided to add carbon fibre front splitters as well as a new rear spoiler and other minor changes such as the new unique bonnet louvres to update the look from the Vantage we are so used to by now. With suspension being modified to divert from the loss of stiffness you could argue that the Vantage Roadster will be a less uncompromising drive than the coupe that Aston Martin produced previously, and will allow for a much smoother ride even with the expected increase in weight.

Price wise it’s a bit of a guessing game as far as the Aston Martin Vantage Roadster is concerned, but we can make an educated guess that it will be around the £150,000 mark with the V8 Roadster being £14k more than the Coupe version and the V12 Vantage costing around £135,000 from new. Then we get wind of the fact that this may be a limited edition with only 101 set to be manufactured and start to question our previously confident price range of £150,000 and possibly start to elevate that just a tad.

With Aston Martin having the sterling reputation that they have had over the past fifty years (and then some) it’s fair to say that we would love for this to be another success in the market as we ourselves love an Aston Martin and it would be a shame to see them start to dwindle away with the lack of success the previous Vantage model had within the general public.
