Porsche Unveil 911 GT3 RS

Febuary 2010 will see the arrival of the most extreme 911 yet. The RS badge is reserved for only the most hardcore of road-going 911s, and the GT3 RS looks set to live up to the name. The new, up-sized 3.8 Litre engine will produce 444bhp, 35 bhp more than the previous GT3 RS.

Putting all that power to the ground is a straight-forward 6-speed gearbox, featuring shorter ratios than the gearbox of the previous GT3. This will no doubt decrease the top speed but increase acceleration.

Porsche will be throwing their latest technologies into the GT3 RS, one of which is Porsche’s Active Drivetrain Mounts (PADM). This automatically alters the stiffness and damping of the engine mounts in order to resist movement of the drivetrain in the bodyshell.

The Porchse 911 GT3 goes on sale in Febuary 2010 at £100,760. Should you manage to pick one up, be sure to give Keith Michaels a visit for Porsche Car Insurance.
