Drink Drive Limit Lowered in Scotland

The Scottish Government have announced that they will be reducing the alcohol level from 80mg per 100ml of blood to 50mgs later this year. The level in England and Wales will remain as before with no plans to change. This will no doubt have a bug impact on people being prosecuted for drink driving.

Scotland has also been the first to implement the minimum price per unit of alcohol. Both these initiatives are designed to reduce the number of deaths and injuries on the Scottish roads.

The final aim is to have a zero tolerance policy towards drink drive although this will take some time to push through. Should you have been unfortunate enough to have received a conviction for drink driving and you need drink driver insurance then please do contact us as we have specific schemes in place for this type of policy.
