The GT is a variant of the famed 570S with additional comfort, practicality and sound reducing materials that has been further optimised for road use.
It is still a McLaren at heart but one that is ideal (in their words) for daily use and longer journeys. It retains the S’s carbon-fibre chassis, lightweight body and twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V8 engine which produces 562bhp and provides a top speed of over 200mph. The GT gets extra luggage space, slower steering and softer suspension than the 570S, also the tyres have been changed to aid in a quieter ride.
The GT is the most expensive of the McLaren Sports Series at around £158,000 and that is before you look at the options list which places it in the same arena as the Mercedes-AMG GT R, Audi R8 V10 Plus and Porsche 911 Turbo S.
