A BA10 endorsement on your licence is the result of being convicted of driving while disqualified. Once your disqualification comes to an end you may find it difficult to get cheap car insurance. After having driven despite being disqualified by the courts, insurers will not look favourably upon you.

Getting An BA10 Endorsement

A BA10 endorsement is the penalty for driving while disqualified by the court. If caught, the endorsement is added to your licence.

Penalties For Driving While Disqualified

Being caught driving while disqualified is an arrestable offence. Punishments vary, but prison sentences are an option. Otherwise, you can expect either community service or the imposition of a curfew order, along with a fine and an extension of the period for which you are disqualified from driving. If convicted, your BA10 endorsement will remain on your licence for 4 years from the date of the offence. You will also receive 6 points on your licence. This is the least severe of the accidental offences. If you acquire more than 12 points on your licence within 3 years, you will also receive a driving ban.

BA10 Car Insurance

We understand that 4 years of having to explain the circumstances of your endorsement is stressful and time consuming. A BA10 endorsement can hold up the process of getting a quote when you are able to drive again, and when you eventually receive a quote, it is likely to be high. Any endorsements are evidence of higher risk drivers in the eyes of insurers.
