The Range Rover Sport is regarded a mid-size luxury sports SUV. It was originally launched in 2005 and is now on its second generation which was introduced in 2013.
This model is Land Rovers sporty SUV in the range demonstrating their commitment to performance. The petrol engine options included two Supercharged V8’s; 4.2 litre V8 390bhp and a 5.0 litre 496bhp which are both quite rapid. The Sport also offers the linked air suspension system with optional ride height control that optimise comfort and 4×4 driving, both on and off-road.
The Sports chassis was adapted from the frame design used on the Discovery 3 which allegedly gives the Range Rover Sport the necessary required refinement and robustness for off-road applications. The Sport is smaller than the Range Rover and the Discovery in every dimension with its wheelbase being shorter by 5 inches.
The second-generation Range Rover Sport was announced in March 2013 continuing with design elements from the Evoque and the full-size 2013 Range Rover. It grew by 4 inches in length and now uses an integrated bodyframe chassis just like the bigger Range Rover.
In 2017 the Sport was facelifted, and a Plug in Hybrid was added to the range. Mostly cosmetic changes on the lights, bumpers and the infotainment was upgraded to the one from the Velar.
