The XK’s second generation was launched in 2006 and with it Jaguar’s new Aluminium Monocoque. The monocoque offered the same strength as its steel predecessor but has a third of the weight. It became popular with the public due to its reduced fuel consumption and better performance. In the segment: Jaguar later extended the feature across its entire range.
In 2009 jaguar increased the XK’s engine size from a 4.2 to 5.0 litres. Taking an exceptional car to the next level, the XK is still regarded today as a budget Aston Martin.
