About the e-tron
Most people will assume that the name e-tron refers to Audi’s latest range of fully electric vehicles, but it was first used in 2009 on a concept car at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Since then, e-tron has become synonymous with Audi’s range of premium EVs.
Audi have stated that they plan to have 12 fully electric e-tron models by 2025, which will include versions that align to the current A4 and A6 ranges. It’s clearly a popular field for them.
The e-tron range holds the prestige that you’d expect from Audi, but with the eco-conscious approach that battery powered vehicles have.
Did you know that Audi built an R8 e-tron in 2015 which had 2 electric motors, produced 456bhp and had a 0-60 time of 3.9 seconds? Perhaps being ahead of the market at the time, only 100 of these were sold in Europe during its production run.
