About the all-electric Mercedes Benz EQE
While many manufacturers focus on SUVs as they turn to EVs, Mercedes is one of the first marquee brands to push into a more traditional market with the new EQE.
This mid-sized EV saloon is based on the same platform as the larger EQS and shares a number of characteristics with Mercedes’ flagship model.
The EQE 350+ is the only edition offered in the UK from launch and one of its biggest attractions is an impressive range of up to 394 miles from a 90kWh battery, according to the manufacturer’s official figures. A 10-80% charge at a public rapid charger takes a shade over 30 minutes as charging is capped at 170kW.
The EQE returns impressive performance figures, with its responsive electric powerplant producing 288bhp and 0-62mph in 6.4 seconds. There are Eco, Comfort, Sport and Individual driving modes, while an adaptive suspension system delivers the smoothest of rides.
The EQE boasts a stunning interior that oozes luxury thanks to high-quality materials and comfortable seats, making every journey a pleasurable experience. There is a digital dashboard behind the steering wheel and a central touchscreen that controls most of the vehicle’s functions. It is expected that upcoming AMG models will be available with the same 1.4m-wide Hyperscreen display that covers the entire dash and is currently found in the EQS model. Released in 2022, the Mercedes EQE starts from £76,450.
