With sales of Aston Martin’s Rapide not quite picking up the way the Aston team would have liked, it appears the power of the Rapide S is the way Aston Martin will try to entice a wave of new customers into showrooms. With an impressive 558 hp it is fair to say that the Rapide S is plenty of competition for cars within this category, be it the new M6 of the RS7 we spoke about recently.
A trait commonly found with Aston Martin’s range of cars is that they tend to be some of the more beautiful to look at, and the Rapide S is another we can add to that collection. Unfortunately economically the Rapide S really will guzzle it’s way through the miles. Although it is slightly improved, the CO2 of 332g/km and 19.9mpg get absolutely blown out of the water by the likes of BMW who’s M6 is capable of 232g/km and 28.5mpg, and when you take into consideration that like the previous Rapide this car will be more expensive than it’s German competitors you really do start to see the money disappear.
