June saw the release of Mitsubishi’s fastest Evo ever, the Lancer Evolution X FQ-400. The X series has seen Mitsubishi produce Lancers with performance comparable to exotic supercars, and the new FQ-400 looks set to be a serious rival. It boasts over 400bhp and a 0-60 time of 3.8 seconds. Even more incredible, it gets all this power from a modestly-sized 2.0 Litre engine. The top speed is electronically limited to 155mph.
With all this power you’ll need handling to match. Thankfully the FQ-400 has a lowered suspension featuring Eibach springs and Bilstein Shock Absorbers. Lightweight 18″ alloy wheels and Toyo Proxes R1R tyres all go towards making this monster’s road-holding razor sharp – Even more so than existing Evolution X’s.
The car is not short on creature comforts either, boasting lots of interior extras such as Bluetooth hands-free telephone connection, a CD-tuner with 30 Gig hard drive, DVD satellite navigation and privacy glass.
