McLaren has revealed the price for the new MP4-12C – and it will undercut its chief rival, the Ferrari 458 Italia, by a whisker over £1000. When it goes on sale next year, the McLaren will cost £168,500, a price that includes new-rate VAT (20 per cent). Our experience though is that the car comes in at a higher price when spec is added and therefore needs the right Mclaren MP4-12C insurance.
The 458 Italia costs £169,545, but that’s currently inclusive of 17.5 per cent VAT, so the price is almost certain to rise further come January. Both cars require High Performance car insurance and we are happy to oblige.
