Jaguar F Type Confirmed

At last Jaguar has finally announced the production of their new F Type. The final production form will be shown in the autumn with deliveries starting next year. We are looking forward to the car and to provide the relevant Jaguar car insurance.

The F-Type label of course carries huge emotional baggage for Jaguar (to follow on from the famous ‘E’ Type) and Jaguar accepts that this is a market segment that we have been absent from for too long. ‘The core appeal of Jaguar’s cars is their sporting heart and that heart will beat stronger than ever before in the F-Type’ (said the Jaguar Global Brand Director, Adrian Hallmark).

A more measured view – he’s been taking his time over it after all – can be found from design boss Ian Callum, who’s mused several times over the years on what the F-Type should be. Discussing the C-X16, Callum recognised that the car would need a harder sporting edge. Light weight and agility are, perhaps, of greater relevance for future Jaguar sports cars than outright top speedbragging rights. Taking on the likes of Porsche will be a tough nut to crack but we believe that Jaguar has a large enough worldwide fanbase to make the car a success – we will be keen to arrange the Jaguar car insurance.

The pre-show release boasts that the F-Type will launch as a convertible of all-aluminium construction. A range of petrol engines will be available – including a new powerplant family. The F-Type’s development schedule has now moved to on-road testing so if you plan to purchase one please do contact us for your Jaguar F Type car insurance.
