New DS3-Based Hot Hatch from Citroen

A return to the hot hatch market has been on Citroen’s agenda recently. They have been considering developing a spicy version of the new DS3 hatch.

The new car might use a version of the turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine. The Peugeot-Citroen group has joined forces with BMW, who is currently using the same engine in the Mini. Performance from the sexy hot hatch Citroen DS3 is expected to be brisk enough to take on the Clio Renaultsport’s 0-62mph sprint of 6.9secs time.

If Citroen do decide to go ahead with this new hot hatch car then we should expect to see it in showrooms sometime in 2011.
