Public Debut for the New Porsche 911 GT3 R

The Porsche 911 GT3-R racer with a 4.0 litre engine has been revealed at the Autosport show. As it is designed to FIA GT3 regulations, the new GT3 R is intended to be more suitable for the ambitious amateur racing driver rather than purely experienced professionals.

With the 480bhp, the rear-engined Porsche 911 GT3 R is also fitted with traction control, anti-lock brakes and even an automatic throttle blip function to help smooth-out downshifts. All of which is designed to help drivers to get used to the car easily.

Yep, the Porsche 911 GT3 R has a price tag for 279,000 Euros (before taxes) and no, you cannot drive it on the roads in the UK. According to Uwe Brettel, head of motorsport sales, the number of Porsche 911 GT3-R cars they had planned for 2010 is almost sold out!
