Mazda MX5 GT

If you have ever wondered what it would be like to have a Mazda MX5 with over 200 bhp then we have the answer for you. Unfortunately this is not a car that Mazda have produced themselves so a massed produced version will not be on the cards.

Based on the Mazda GT Race Car, this version has been modified to take a Duratec 2.0 litre engine. Put together by the same team that produces the race car, this road going version has 205 bhp and just shows what potential this great car has.

Of course this is not the first time we have seen a hot MX5 as the BBR Turbo springs to mind, but this new version achieves what it does by using a normally aspirated engine without any turbo help. This will be warmly appreciated by the fans of the MX5 which continues to rely on its superb chassis and responsive engine to give the feedback a true performance car driver wants.

If you own a tuned or modified MX5, or even a standard one, then we would love to have the opportunity to provide you with your Mazda MX5 insurance. We have been insuring these cars for many many years (as well as the Jap Import Eunos version) and will carry doing so as long as these great cars are still around.
